At the wheel is Merv, a long-time local with a warm smile and decades of experience exploring the Tasman region. Having spent over 30 years regularly visiting everywhere from the Marlborough Sounds to Motueka and the Moutere, Merv and his partner Rebecca made Tapu Bay (adjacent to Kaiterteri) their permanent home in 2019. They now run Tapu Bay Retreat from their property, so if you need a place to stay, they would love to have you.

Merv’s deep love for the area shines through in every journey, and he’s always happy to share local insight, stories, tips, and possibly even a few fishing secrets picked up during his years in the seafood industry.

With a background in rally sport and a collection of trophies to prove it, Merv brings a calm confidence to every drive.
